Skardu - Satpara Tour

Skardu, is situated on the banks of the mighty river Indus, just 8 km above its confluence with the river Shigar. Around it are high peaks, deep gorges and some of the most beautiful mountain scenery on the planet. During the summer, Skardu attracts a large number of trekkers and mountaineers from all parts of the world. In fact, the entire region is known as mountaineers' paradise. Nowhere in the world does one find such a large collection of lofty peaks, including K-2 the world's second highest peak, and huge glaciers like Baltoro, Biafo and Siachen, some of the largest in the world outside the Polar region, as in this 16,283 square km (10,118 square miles) of wonderland. Kharfocho Fort: The fort was probably built by Ali Sher Khan Anchan. It offers nice views over the Valley. Ali Sher Khan ruled till the end of the 16th century and conquered Ladakh.Satpara Lake: Some 10 km south of Skardu, lies the Satpara Lake. Surrounded by high glacial mountains, this lake has an island in the middle of its clear waters and can only be accessed by boat. The lake is considered ideal for fishing.Khaplu Valley: More than 100 km fro Skardu is the Khaplu valley. The valley offers sights on the Masherbrum, K-6, K-7, Sherpi Kangh, Sia Kangri and Saltoro Kangri.Kachura Lake: About 32 kms from Skardu lie the shimmering waters of the Kachura Lake. The lake offers opportunities for trout fishing.Buddhist Rock:There is only one surviving Buddhist Rock with rock carvings in the Skardu Valley located on Satpara road

Day 2 Islamabad - Swat Valley
Leave for Swat valley enroute visit Taxila Museum. Museum holds ancient artifacts of Bhudda culture. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3 Upper Swat Valley
Today visit upper swat valley including kalam, mahodand lake and Matiltan. Overnight in Miandam.

Day 4 Swat Valley- Chilas
Leave via Shangla Pass over onto the Karakoram Highway. Moving along river indus, overnight at Chilas.

Day 5 Chilas - Skardu
Depart for Skardu through Indus gorge. Arrive at Skardu. Evening free at Skardu. Overnight at hotel.

Day 6 Skardu/Satpara Lake
Lake Morning visits to Satpara Lake. Luch, hiking, fishing at Satpara Lake. Overnight at hotel.

Day 7 Skardu/Kachura Lake
Early Morning excursion to Kachura Lake. Fishing and Hiking. Return back to Skardu. Overnight at hotel.

Day 8 Skardu - Besham
Early morning departure for Besham. Overnight at hotel.

Day 9 Islamabad - Destination
Early Morning depature to Islamabad on KKH. Arrive in islamabad in the evening.Transfer to airport for flight to destination
