There was a polo pitch up in the town of Gilgit, in the Northern Areas region of Pakistan. We asked when there would be a match, and fortunately, there was one the next day.
We went to the pitch, and were given "VIP" seats, beside the music and beating drums
The Shandur Polo Festival is one of the few major public sporting events still held in Pakistan. Shandur Top, at 3,700 metres above sea level, is the highest polo ground in the world. Thousands of people from across Pakistan and around the globe attend the three- day festival every year.

During our 2008 Trekking Expedition to K2 Base Camp, we arrive at Concordia to see views of many massive mountains. The tallest is K2, which is the 2nd highest mountain in the world at 8,611m. It took us six full trekking days to finally see K2. Maria is so excited that she cartwheels around camp showcasing the 360° view!
