Do I need a special visa to trek or hunt in Pakistan?
Yes. Trekkers going to restricted zones (like K2 Godwin-Austen Glacier) or hunters require a special Trekking or Hunting Visa rather than standard tourist visas. Pamir Tours provides the required Letter of Invitation (LOI), DTS agency license documents, and security approvals to support your consulate visa application.
How far in advance should we secure booking slot space?
For mountaineering and K2 Base Camp trekking, we require booking at least 60 days in advance to process restricted area permits with the Ministry of Tourism. For trophy hunting species, permits are extremely limited and issued by auction; we suggest registering 4–6 months in advance.
How are weapons and ammunition handled for trophy hunting tours?
Hunters must import their own rifle under a certified weapon import license. We compile and file your rifle serial numbers and passport copies with the Ministries of Interior and Foreign Affairs. Upon arrival at Islamabad Airport, customs officials verify the numbers and stamp your clearance document.
What communication setup do you maintain on treks?
In deep glaciated sectors (like Baltoro or Urdukas), cell towers are completely unavailable. We carry satellite communication linking units for regular position updates, emergency liaison coordinates, and VHF camp-to-camp radios to maintain safety and weather warning telemetry.
